Entry Sign, Mural and Community Noticeboard
Update December 2025
ABCA met with Jeanette Williams to get approval for the location of a community noticeboard in the village. We provided a selection of possible locations. Still awaiting Council’s response (chased up in December, January and February).
Copa Men’s Shed have expressed interest in constructing the noticeboard. It will need to be made according to Council specs, and Council will need to install it.
Update November 2025
ABCA have identified a possible mural artist, Grant Monloney, who worked with ABPS students on a similar outdoor mural project recently. Council have expressed cautious agreement to the idea. ABCA needs to seek grant funding to cover the cost, TBD.
Update: 20 October 2025
ABCA is in discussions with Council about the possibility of installing a new ‘Welcome to Avoca’ sign on Avoca Drive (near the Bowlo), painting a mural on the pumping station on Avoca Drive, and installing a Community Noticeboard in the shopping village. None of these issues are simple so no results are expected in FY26 but we continue to advocate for these amenities in Avoca.
