Shared Pathway on Avoca Drive

Update 14 March 2026

Council has confirmed that Stages 1 and 2 will be on the residential side of the road, but they are investigating a lakeside alignment for Stage 3.

Here’s the latest schedule:

Stage 1: The Scenic Highway to Hillside Rd – Designs are being finalised and construction will start before the end of FY26 (ie before June this year)

Stage 2: Hillside Rd to The Round Drive – Ongoing evaluation and refinement of designs with construction proposed to commence late 2027.

Stage 3: The Round Drive to Heazlett Park – Funding just confirmed; investigations and design work underway - completion date not yet confirmed.

Update 18 February 2026

Council management advised recently that that construction of Stage 1 of the Shared Pathway along Avoca Drive (Scenic Highway to Hillside Rd) is planned to start in the first quarter of 2026 with Stage 2 (Hillside Road to The Round Drive) starting in late 2027. Council also confirmed that it had received grant funding for the design and construction of Stage 3 (The Round Drive to Heazlett Park) though no timeline has yet been provided for this section.

There are no plans to reduce the speed limit from 70 kmh. ABCA considering how to campaign on this issue.

Update 3 November 2025:

Work on Stage 1 scheduled to start in Jan or Feb 2026, according to Cllr Jared Wright.

Update: 20 October 2025

Community Consultation was completed in May.

The project will be delivered in three stages, with Stage 1 (Scenic Highway to Hillside Road) scheduled to commence construction in early 2026. Stage 2 (Hillside Road to The Round Drive) is planned to commence in late 2027. Stages 1 and 2 are funded through developer contributions, while Council continues to advocate for funding to deliver Stage 3 (The Round Drive to Heazlett Park).
