Trees on the Foreshore

Council confirmed the following works:

Tree planting at Hunter Park will be funded and delivered as part of next financial year’s tree planting program. As discussed on site, the constrained space, surrounding hardstand, and heat exposure in this location may limit long-term tree performance. Should new trees fail, ongoing replacement will not occur to avoid unnecessary expenditure of ratepayer funds.

Council has agreed to replace the six ailing Tuckeroo trees on the foreshore with healthy specimens of more suitable species, likely Banksia integrifolia, so long as ABCA agrees to arrange a watering schedule for the first 6 - 9 months. Budgeted for FY27 (hopefully in winter 2026).
