Hunter Park Facelift

Council confirmed the following works :

Hunter Park will undergo a full embellishment and refurbishment during the upcoming winter period. The scope of works will include replacement of timber garden edging, removal of debris from park furniture, planting of Westringa, and mass planting of hardy shrubs and groundcovers suited to the coastal environment at Avoca Beach. We will also look at mulching the garden beds and trees within the reserve with some fertiliser applied to the turf.

3 March 2026

Council confirmed they can replace the dead bushes around the perimeter with Westringia fruiticosa (Coastal Rosemary) bushes, along with some new Aracaria hetrophylla (Norfolk Pines). Planting will take place ‘during the cooler months’. No dates yet provided.

ABCA submitted a request to Council to replace the dead/dying bushes that surround the park. Awaiting a response.
