South End Car Park before improvements

Council has on display proposed plans for extensive works in and around South End Park. These include:

  • further extension of drainage works to control flooding in the area;

  • major changes to parking arrangements in South End Park;

  • improved pedestrian access to the foreshore, a pedestrian crossing on Burns Street; additional accessible parking, and

  • substantial extension of the 40km speed zone in Avoca Beach.

Every Avocan has a stake in these proposed changes – this is your single opportunity to get involved in shaping Council’s final proposals. So, please contribute your views.

A Special Community Meeting will be held on Thursday 11 June, 7pm at the Avoca Beach Hotel (Kookaburra Room). It will provide an opportunity to learn about the plans and to share views.

In addition, Council is conducting drop-in sessions  next Wednesday 3 June between 4pm and 7pm at Avoca Beach Surf Club.
