There are important new developments with the long-needed Council project to construct a shared pathway along Avoca Drive.

Council has started a process of public exhibition of the concept plans for the route and design which is being constructed in 3 Stages. They are seeking inputs from community members to guide final design plans.

This is your chance to have your say and help shape this project!

Some key points about the information on the website are:

• The deadline for input is Wednesday 4 June – the website explains how to make submissions

• There are detailed design sheets for each of the 3 stages

• There is an extensive set of FAQs addressing topics like: why the residential–side alignment was chosen; safety of users; tree removal/replacement; and project timelines

• Individuals can book an appointment time to meet with Council staff and discuss the project/issues on Thursday 15 May at an information session at Avoca Beach Surf Club

Note that the Federal Government has committed to fund Stage 3 of the project, with the Council funding Stages 1 and 2.

This pathway promises huge benefits for Avocans and we have argued long and hard for it to happen .
