New Look, Better Views: The Transformation of the Warren Avenue Lookout

The new lookout on a glorious spring morning

Avoca Beach now has a new lookout! You may recall that the former structure at the end of Warren Avenue had to be demolished because it had become unsafe. Council ran a Community Consultation process to find out locals’ opinions about a possible replacement . More than 130 people responded and the key feedback was:

  • 94% of respondents wanted to see the lookout renewed

  • Accessibility

  • Increase size

  • Lighting improvement

Earlier this year the Council removed the old structure and replaced it with a more attractive, modern-looking one. The new lookout has a seat and lighting. It was designed with step-free access so everyone in the community can enjoy the view.

The new lookout features step-free access for wheelchair users, prams, and those with limited mobility.

Council has improved the view by cutting back some existing plants. They have also planted new native seedlings around the structure.
