South End Car Park Plans: Community Submission

Council published the plans for their proposed South End Car Park and Drainage Upgrade earlier this month, and invited comments from the community via their online portal (now closed for submissions), and at an afternoon of drop-in sessions at the surf club. Many Avocans took advantage of these opportunities to comment.
In addition, this Community Association convened a Community Meeting on June 11 to discuss the draft plans. It provided opportunity for dialogue among participants and an opportunity to establish where a good degree of commonality was present and where there was a diversity of views. We also gathered feedback via informal conversations with individuals.
The resulting submission to Council by ABCA on behalf of the community is intended to capture the main elements of these discussions. It does not attempt to canvass every significant aspect of the draft plans. The submission can be read below:
